Day 2
Day two of the fast is here and you have made it through one of the toughest days – the first one! By now, you are feeling the initial phase of any fast. For many people, today is the hardest, especially if your body is used to receiving a daily dose of caffeine from tea or coffee and the cry of the flesh for its greatest craving – sugar!
Press through today by drinking lots of water and clinging to Jesus. He is nearer than you ever imagined. Spend time in worship and gratitude and allow Him to begin to unpack and heal the broken places in your life that you will discover as you speak to Him each day.
Declaring a spiritual fast is a means of interrupting the effects of life‘s routines, in order to deal with the hindrances that have been lurking in the background for weeks, and in some cases years and decades. Bitterness, unforgiveness, anger, pride and jealousy are all battles that we face and need to be dealt with during this time so that we can be set free from their hold over us.
Fasting is taking time to regain your spiritual cutting edge, preparing the way for you to accomplish so much more through the power of the Spirit than you could accomplish through your own limited strength. Fasting, prayer and time reading God’s Word work together, just like a woodcutter using tools to sharpen an axe. When I fast privately or corporately, it allows me to clean out all the junk in my life and regain the cutting edge of passion and the Holy Spirit’s work in my life.

Thought For The Day
Remember, when starting a fast, if it doesn’t mean anything to you, it won’t mean anything to God.
Verse For The Day
Acts 3:19
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.
Daily Prayer Focus
That I will no longer avoid things that are holding me back, but I will bring them out into the open for God to deal with.
