Day 3
Today, you will enter something called ketosis. This is your body’s way of saying that something is happening that is out of the ordinary. You will begin to notice a coating on your tongue and most will begin to lose weight, mostly water weight. Your body has also begun to adjust and some of the headaches and deep hunger pangs will begin to subside. But something else will begin to happen as well. As you work your way through the day, noticing every restaurant and pizza commercial, there will be moments of clarity. Don’t make it all about fighting through and just surviving each day. Look past your physical desires and you will see a whole new dimension. You will hear His voice speak more clearly than you have ever experienced before.
If you will be determined today to push through, you will come into a ‘sweet place’ whereby food looses its hold over you and you begin to see and hear clearly again.
A new sense of God’s presence will begin to wash over you and though food will never lose its pull entirely (it’s necessary and natural to eat) the desire that is normally your master will now be your servant.
Being and feeling hungry is not only usual, it’s normal. Don’t beat yourself up today because of the temptation, instead shut yourself away from TV adverts and places where food is being served if you can. However, if you are preparing food for the children during a fast it may not be possible to remove yourself from the kitchen, but you can still conquer the natural desire for food.
When you would normally be eating, take time each day to pray specifically for something that needs to get sorted in your life. You may not feel anything, but that doesn’t mean that God isn’t working in answer to your prayers. Obedience brings blessing. Always!

Thought For The Day
When you turn from the things of the world and submit yourself to God, He will give you the grace to stand strong and resist the temptations you face right now.
