Day 1

For a couple of years, my walk with God felt simple.

I had accepted the life of Christ, tried to live right, served when I could and then went home. In my mind, that was the Christian life. Anything else I struggled with, I quietly accepted as normal. The pressure, the silent battles, the questions I did not voice. I told myself they were all part of the process.

What I did not realise at the time was that my seasons of solitude were gradually leaving me exposed. In trying to walk independently, I missed the protection that Godly fellowship provides.

Areas of my heart that should have been strengthened through connection were left unattended, and over time, this began to affect my walk with God in subtle but significant ways.

It is possible to be saved and still be isolated. It is possible to love God deeply yet carry weights you were never meant to carry alone. My intentions were sincere, but my perspective was incomplete. I believed strength was about endurance, about keeping my head down and pushing through. What I had not yet understood was that God never defined strength as solitude.

Scripture tells us in Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 that two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labour. It goes further to explain that if one falls, the other can lift him up. Falling is expected. The danger is falling alone. Solomon paints a picture that still mirrors our lives today. Life has uneven ground. At some point, everyone trips.

The question is not whether you will stumble, but who will be there when you do?

A log pulled from the fire quickly loses its heat.
Place it back among the others and it begins to burn again. That is what community does. It restores warmth, perspective and strength.

All through Scripture, we see that God works powerfully through men who stand together. Daniel did not face Babylon alone. He stood alongside Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. These men were royalty. They could have relied on their status or chosen comfort over conviction. They could have blended in, eaten the king's food and survived quietly. Instead, they drew strength from one another. In a strange land, during a temporary phase of their lives, they chose to remember who they were. Unity became their reinforcement and identity became their anchor.

That story still speaks to us today. As believers, we belong to God's bloodline. We are heirs, and joint heirs with Christ. Yet we live in a world that constantly presses against our faith. Jesus Himself made it clear in John 16:33 that tribulations will come. The world will test you. Pressure will arrive in seasons. But standing firm is not only about personal resolve. It is also about who stands with you when resolve begins to weaken.

Proverbs 24:10 says that if you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small. It does not say if you stumble. It does not say if you struggle. It says if you faint. Adversity is guaranteed. Strength determines whether you remain standing. God, in His wisdom, designed community as one of the ways we remain strong.

It was in that context that the MANKIND Conference became a turning point for me.
Being surrounded by like-minded brothers did something I had not anticipated. Stories I heard felt familiar, as though someone had been reading from pages of my own life. Testimonies from men who had once stood in the same phase I was in gave me perspective and hope. I realised that what I was facing was not unique, and more importantly, that it was not permanent. Strength flowed through shared experience. Faith was reinforced through fellowship. I left not just encouraged but aligned.

MANKIND was not just an event I attended. It became a reminder of how God strengthens His people. Not in isolation, but through intentional connection.

If you are currently walking through a difficult season, hear this clearly. You are not alone. You are not the first to walk this road and you will not be the last. Life moves in phases, and there are men who have passed through your phase and emerged stronger. Walk with them. Learn from them. Stand alongside them.

And if you are reading this and you have not yet accepted the life of Christ, then you are a few steps behind, but the good news is that you can catch up quickly. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. Turn from sin, invite Him into your life and allow Him to make you new.

After that, do not walk alone. Find a church. Find a Bible-believing community. If you are in or around Netherton, the doors of Champions Church are always open to you.

Register for the MANKIND Conference happening from 14th-16th May. And if you are a lady, Shine Conference will be taking place from 9th-11th July.

Do not do life alone. Get connected. Get strengthened. No man left behind.
