Day 4

As we approach the life-changing and life-affirming event known as MANKIND, I’m reminded of the man I was before I became a part of this movement.
I was “normal.”
I thought normal was enough.

Since MANKIND, I’ve come to see that we are so much more than normal. We each have a calling.
For a long time, I was content just to get by, with very few worries. I mistook that for happiness. It wasn’t until I faced serious challenges in my career and, more importantly, with my mental health, that my whole world changed. Through God’s grace, I overcame them.

After speaking openly about my struggles, I was invited to take part in a conversation on stage at a MANKIND event. I thought it would be a chance to help others; little did I know how much it would help me.
It was there I truly understood God won’t always take you out of a mess, but He will give you the opportunity to learn and grow through it.

John 15:1–2: I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit, He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.”

After the toughest period of my life, I had two choices:
Stay where I was bitter, resentful, and stuck…
Or grow.
I chose growth.

I set myself a 10-year plan to achieve qualifications I never thought possible and I completed it in just 4 years. Now I keep moving forward, knowing that God’s plans are far greater than mine.

At this year’s MANKIND, ask yourself:
What are my fruits?
What needs pruning?
Let God be your gardener and watch how beautifully you grow.
