Firstly let’s tackle what Biblical fasting ISN’T!
Fasting is not merely going without food for a period of time; nor is it something to be done by only a bunch of spiritual fanatics.
Fasting is part of the lifestyle of normal believers and followers of Jesus.
Fasting should not only be limited to special times of the year but starting this fast today should set in motion a lifetime of fasting as part of your ongoing relationship with Jesus.
Simply stated, biblical fasting is refraining from food for a spiritual purpose. Fasting is not fanatical but normal — everyday we will be faced with challenges for which we need a time of fasting for a breakthrough.
When you eliminate food from your diet for a number of days, your spirit becomes uncluttered by the things of this world and you become amazingly sensitised to the things of God and His voice.
Fasting brings you into a deeper, more intimate, and powerful relationship with God because of the surrender of your appetite to God.

Thought For The Day
God knows that there is never a convenient time to fast. It is the very fact that it is inconvenient that brings about its reward.

Matthew 6:16-18
“When you fast, do not look sombre as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

Make a list of unsaved friends/family and continually pray for them to open their hearts to Jesus during the next 10 days.
